Wasteboys Inc. was formed in 2010 as a by-product of the Wasted Youth Cradle Pirates, a skatecrew based at the
Cradle Skatepark in Tyrol/Austria, aiming for more trash in Austria‘s nightlife.
Their party series „Audio Knockout“ and an insane fellowship gave them a good start playing mixes from
funky electronics to pretty gnarly trash electro alongside artists like Urban Knights, Noize Generation, Trash Junk,
The Shit Is Coming Home or Dead Battery.
Now, with their first EP „Wasteboys 101“ in their luggage, they are ready to enter 2013, so open your ears,
shut your brain, move your feet, it‘s time to get wasted!

Everything started in 2002. Benjamin Radan, born 1984 in Hannover (land of Bratwurst and Beer - or Germany), discovered the world of music production.
At first he started with small sample programs like eJay and Music Maker. Some time later, he felt trapped into these programs and searched for alternatives.
Wanted - found!
The program, with what he works today is called Propellerhead Reason. After about half a year of intensive training, he entered the music community "Uptrax" and uploaded all his stuff.
Without high expectations of positive feedback, he visited this site more irregular. But then: one of his tracks hit into the Top 10 and became live broadcast on Sunshine Live's "track check"
(the biggest electro radio station in germany). From that day, Nino Cortez (=his old artist name) became an integral part of the community. The activities have taken place there over 3 years,
followed by several On-Air-Plays at Sunshine Live.
The first release was made possible by Uptrax. He won the quarterly record deal on the major label ZYX-Music.
However, this opportunity didn't really help him to get into the desired direction , despite some releases from time to time.
In 2010, producing music wasn't enough anymore - Ben wanted to feel the music, to hear people scream and dance like
maniacs! So he decided to head right into deejaying. He already had some gigs in smaller locations and a radio show.
But still, this isn't enough - he wants to spread his wings and leave all borders behind!
Highly motivated, he looks into the year 2012. Ben restarted his sideproject called "Shuya" because he was kinda bored of his old artist name "Nino Cortez".
But mostly because the main idea was to start from scratch - cause he was fallen in love with the electro house, complextro, dubstep and DnB music!
Today, he wants to cross his old style (powerful trance) with his new style (dirty electro - not the genre ofc! He doesn't enjoy the dutch style) in his own forthcoming productions.

Ryan Martinez (Slugpunk) has been surrounded by music his entire life. Seldom did a day go by when the living room stereo wasn’t turned on and playing a variety of multi-genre, decade spanning music. This was not only a family policy, but mandatory when hosting good company, as family gatherings allowed all tastes to find their way out of the living room speakers to the enjoyment, or at least feedback, of everyone attending. Born and raised in southern California, Ryan set out to explore other parts of the country, and absorb the diverse influence outside of his own hometown.
Two years ago, production of original tracks and mixes began, under the producing project known as DAFrec with the artist name “Slugpunk”. Utilizing Reason by Propellerhead for his original tracks, Ryan wants to use DAFrec to represent new and upcoming artists, as well as push through new music to an industry he feels is closed-off and uninterested in new ideas, or genuine talent.
“I wanted to start DAFrec based on how bad mainstream music is today, and how the majority of people in the record industry have been slipping, it’s more about selling music than creating it. I think everyone is untitled to have their own sound, and not what a CEO might want. I started making sets based on what I thought sounded good, and then tried to make it more of a musical journey by having certain set structure; a beginning, middle, and end.”
He feels that by giving way to new ideas and new talent DAFrec will expose their abilities while circumventing the controlling aspect of the music industry. Like a musical revolution, DAFrec is designed to help revitalize and rekindle some of the passion involved in making quality music. In his own mixes and tracks Slugpunk draws inspiration and utilizes aspects from many types of music and artists, and looks forward to working with new talent to producing projects that continue to expand his horizons as well as others.
